Bethany Nichols brings expertise in educational leadership, data-driven decision-making, and system-level planning to her role as the Western Massachusetts TA Center Director for the BIRCh Center. With a strong background in social-emotional learning (SEL), academic and behavioral support, and special education, she brings experience with driving initiatives aimed at improving student learning and well-being. Her professional experience includes roles as a Director of SEL and Student Support, district coordinator, and school psychologist.  She is certified as a special education director and school psychologist and has contributed to statewide SEL and mental health initiatives through evidence-based strategies such as universal screening and multi-tiered SEL supports.  Her collaborative, data-informed approach ensures effective partnerships with schools, families, and community stakeholders. Bethany holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Williams College.
